Beyond the Drift: A Reading with David ScottWinchester Poetry Festival, in association with Space in the City, presented a lunchtime reading by David Scott of works from his newly-published collection Beyond the Drift: New & Selected Poems (Bloodaxe Books). Rev’d Canon Dr David Scott is a published poet, playwright and religious writer, and a former Rector of St Lawrence with St Swithun-upon-Kingsgate. He returned to Winchester for this pre-festival event. “Immaculate poems … full of gentle, contemplative intelligence and a tenacious modesty … scrupulous, affectionate.” — John Mole, Encounter Wednesday 11th June, 12.30pm at St Lawrence Church, The Square This was a preview event for the inaugural Winchester Poetry Festival (12–14 September 2014).
